Extra Adventures

If you're looking to explore further, why not add a second adventure to your day, such as canyoning, caving, or white-water tubing? It’s a great way to keep the excitement going!

Is Kayaking a Good Adventure?

Absolutely! If you’ve never tried kayaking, it’s a must-try adventure. You’ll be able to visit places that can only be accessed by kayak, offering a unique view of the landscape. You’ll be in good hands with your guide, and there’s plenty of fun to be had.

Is It a Round Trip?

Yes! Our kayaking route is a round trip. You’ll paddle both up and down the canal, returning to the start point, all while enjoying the breathtaking views of the wild South Wales landscape.

Will I See Any History Along the Way?

Definitely! South Wales is rich in history. As you paddle, your guide will point out historical landmarks and share fascinating stories, giving you a deeper understanding of the places you’re passing.

How Difficult Is Kayaking?

Kayaking is one of our easier activities in Wales, especially for beginners. Unlike canyoning or white-water tubing, kayaking is difficult only in the sense that you need to get the basics down. Kayaking requires less physical strength and technical skill, making it a perfect family-friendly activity for all ages. Our sessions start at just 6 years old.

Will I Have a Chance to Eat or Drink?

Yes, there’s a good café at the meeting point where you can grab a bite to eat and enjoy a coffee before or after your kayaking session. It’s a great place to meet friends and relax!

Are There Any Hidden Coves to Explore?

Yes! South Wales is full of hidden coves and historical gems. As you paddle, your guide will lead you to some of the more secretive spots along the canal, adding an element of discovery to your adventure.

What Will Your Kayaking Day Look Like?

You’ll meet your guide at 10:30 AM, where you’ll receive a safety briefing and an explanation on how to paddle in a straight line. Once you’re familiar with the basics, you’ll begin your 4-mile paddle. Your guide will lead the way, ensuring you have a lot of fun as you enjoy the scenery and peaceful surroundings.

What Inspired Us to Start Kayaking?

We were inspired to start offering kayaking experiences when we realised there was a strong demand for outdoor activities in South Wales. We love planning activities that give people the chance to enjoy the great outdoors, whether they’re locals or holidaymakers.

Are Your Guides Good at Kayaking?

Our guides are amazing! They regularly visit wild places on their own time to discover new kayaking routes, including incredible waterfalls. Many of our guides also travel the world, kayaking in destinations like Uganda. They’re passionate about the sport and committed to providing the best possible experience for you.

How Many Rivers Can You Kayak in Wales?

Wales has plenty of wild rivers to explore. With planned routes in the guidebook, you can kayak on rivers ranging from Grade 1 (easy) to Grade 5 (challenging). Beginners can start on planned man-made white-water courses or other beginner-friendly locations. The UK kayaking guidebook is a great resource for finding kayaking routes across Wales.

Friends on the River

It’s essential to kayak with friends who have your back. In case things don’t go as planned, it’s important your friends are ready to help. Especially in wild waters like white-water rapids, things can change quickly, so it’s always best to paddle with a reputable company for safety.

Places We Have Visited on Our Days Off

We believe in keeping our skills sharp, so our guide team is always out exploring new kayaking spots during their days off. We’re passionate about kayaking and making sure our team stays up to date with the best locations in South Wales.

How Long Are the Kayaks?

Our kayaks are 8.6ft long sit-on-top models, perfect for beginners. You’ll find plenty of time to get the explanation you need, plus 3 hours of paddling on the water. It’s a great way to spend time with your group and enjoy a thrilling adventure!
